Common is the wonder of Who am I? What am I? How am I? How did I get here, and so quickly? The Declining Nude is a body of work created about and for women of a certain age, the age of Now. Not 20, not 30 or even 40, but at least 45. Breast cancer resulting in mastectomy, debilitating rheumatoid arthritis, surgery that resulted in loss of voice, all contribute to the decline of the body. In spite of these challenges, these courageous ladies are intelligent, ambitious, spirited, and willing to expose themselves, determined to live life to the fullest, and refuse to be invisible. Women of quality, they have the wisdom to know that they are beautiful people. They have come together to celebrate who they are, how they are, what they are and where they are now as they are featured in The Declining Nude.
